A practical 4×8 mat for equipment access

These ½-inch HDPE mats are built to create a more dependable travel surface across lawns, soft ground and finished areas. Lay them end to end for a temporary lane, side by side where equipment needs more room, or in a larger group for loading and working areas.

The 4-foot width is useful when coverage matters. It also gives crews more room to build turns than a narrower panel. If the route has a tight gate or narrow side yard, measure that restriction first; a 3×8 mat or a mixed-size order may fit the site better.

Estimate the working quantity, not just the straight run

A straight one-mat-wide lane uses one 4×8 mat for every eight feet of route. A 100-foot run therefore starts at 13 mats after rounding up. That is only the baseline. Turns, driveway-to-lawn transitions, staging areas and two-mat-wide sections all require more coverage.
